ThoroughCare has developed a way for users to add multiple ICD10 codes to an assigned condition for a given patient. The following article will walk through how a user can go about adding multiple ICD10s to a condition listed on the Patient View page.

Note: Before adding an additional ICD10 to a patient's condition, make sure the target ICD10 has already been added to the patient's "Diagnosis History". Click here to learn how to add a new code to a patient's Diagnosis History.

Navigate to the Patient View Page:

First, begin by traveling to the target patient's View Page. Once there, scroll down to the bottom of the page to be able to view the patient tabs.

If the "Conditions" tab is not already showing, click to select it. Once the patient's conditions are visible, take a second to look for changes within the patient's condition list.

Adding Multiple ICD-10 Codes:

Notice the new "+ Add From Diagnosis History" button that is listed under any assigned ICD10. Click this button to begin selecting an additional ICD10, as shown below.

Note: In order to choose a diagnosis code it must first be added to the patient's "Manage Diagnosis History" pop-up, click here if you are unfamiliar with adding ICD10 codes to a patient's Diagnosis History.

Once clicked, a dropdown field should appear beneath the previously added ICD10. Click within this box to bring up the patient's diagnosis history list.

Note: If a particular code has already been added to a condition, it will not show up within the list of different ICD10s to add.

Select from the list or begin typing to add the new ICD10 that is to be added to the condition. Once the correct code is located click to select it. If the code you are looking for is not listed, it may not be added to the patient's Diagnosis History.

Note: A user can also add a new ICD10 to a patient's Diagnosis History by clicking the "Add New...", shown as a dropdown option in the screenshot below.

Once the new code has been selected and it is showing under the "Diagnosis Code" section, click the "Save" button in the bottom right hand corner of the "Conditions" tab, as shown in the screenshot below.

Note: A user can always add an additional codes, however in regards to billing, only the first listed ICD10 code will populate on claims created for that patient.

Adding Diagnosis History:

When viewing the patient's "Conditions" tab, look for the "Manage Diagnosis History" button located in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Click to open the patient's "Diagnosis History" pop-up.

Once the Diagnosis History pop-up appears, click the dark grey "Add ICD-10 Code" button in order to begin adding the new code.

A new Diagnosis History pop-up should appear, and it should resemble the pop-up shown in the screenshot below. Click within the "Search for ICD-10 Code" dropdown, to search for a given code.

Next, begin typing to find the proper ICD-10 code that is to be added. Once located, select the code that is to be added to the patient's diagnosis history list. In this example we are adding code R54.

Note: If an ICD-10 code is not displaying, speak with a ThoroughCare team member about getting the target code added to the dropdown.

When the correct code is chosen, click the "Save" button in the bottom right hand corner of the pop-up.

Once the code has been added, it should be displayed in the "Diagnosis History" table. Now that code can be used when assigning multiple ICD10s to a single condition!
