Importing patient health data is an important first step in managing your patients in ThoroughCare. Here are some best practices to successfully retrieve patient data from AdvancedMD.

Importing an Individual Patient

To import an individual patient, navigate to the Patient Dashboard in AdvancedMD. Locate and copy the patient’s Internal ID.

In ThoroughCare, select + Import Patient in the top, right corner of the AdvancedMD Dashboard.

The Add New Patient from EHR modal will appear. Paste the patient's Internal ID copied from AdvancedMD into the Enter EHR ID field and select Import from EHR.

The Patient Import confirmation box will appear in the top, right corner of the dashboard once the patient is successfully imported into ThoroughCare. Select Open Patient to open the Patient Dashboard.

From the Patient Dashboard you can now begin managing and documenting patient care.

Importing Bulk Patients

Due to ThoroughCare's seamless integration with AdvancedMD, importing bulk patients can be done in 3 simple steps:

Gather Patient IDs

Just like importing an individual patient, ThoroughCare will use Internal IDs to import patients from AdvancedMD. Contact your EHR representative within AdvancedMD for the best way to generate a bulk patient Internal ID list.

Create Spreadsheet

Create a simple spreadsheet with all patient Internal IDs in a single column.

Ready for Import

Contact a ThoroughCare representative to schedule your bulk patient import. Our Imports Team will then process your bulk patient import overnight.

Importing ICD-10 Codes

ICD-10 codes will automatically be imported into ThoroughCare when the patient is imported. To locate the comprehensive list in ThoroughCare, navigate to the patient’s dashboard then to the Clinical Data tab. From there, you can review the ICD-10 codes in the Conditions section.

If an existing diagnosis code maps to a condition in one of ThroughCare's programs, the ICD-10 code will be present in the table under Conditions.

ICD-10 codes that do not map to a ThoroughCare condition will still be imported and can be found under Manage Diagnosis History.

The Diagnosis History modal will list all ICD-10 codes tied to your patient.

Importing Allergies

Once the patient is imported into ThoroughCare, two options are available to import the patient’s allergies.
