As the Initial User

When a user goes into a patient in ThoroughCare and begins documenting, they will not experience any disruption to their process if and when and second user enters the same patient record. They can continue to view, update, and save information in every area of the patient's record, and exit when they are finished with their work.

As the Second User

When a user goes into a patient record in ThoroughCare while another user is already viewing and documenting in the same record, the second user will see a banner displayed at the top of the patient's demographic information upon entry, informing the second user that the record is already in use and by what user. While this banner is present, the user is able to navigate to all areas of the patient record and view any necessary information, however they are prohibited from making updates or changes to the patient of any kind.

As soon as the initial user leaves the patient's record, the second user will receive a notification in the the top right corner of their ThoroughCare screen, informing them that the patient is no longer being edited by another user. The user can then click the notification, refresh the patient's record, and proceed with any updates they need to make.
