TC Compass is a sophisticated AI-generative clinical decision support engine that integrates directly into your ThoroughCare workflow. It functions as a support tool that can help streamline clinical workflows and guide staff in their patient care.
This is an evolving resource, of which the first offering consists of the 'Smart Summary'. An easy snapshot of each individual patient that can offer streamlined handoffs, easy preparation for upcoming interactions, and informed recommendations for next steps in the patient's care.

Navigating TC Compass
To access the TC Compass 'Smart Summary', navigate to a patient chart and click the 'TC Compass' button located at the top, right of the screen.
Reviewing the Smart Summary
The TC Compass 'Smart Summary' is broken down into easily digestible sections of patient data to reduce the number of clicks needed to navigate to all of the applicable areas of the patient record. These sections include the following:
Patient Snapshot: This section provides a high-level overview of the patient’s identity, active enrollment programs, and primary diagnoses. It serves as your quick-reference guide for administrative details and the last successful touchpoint with the patient.
Clinical Picture: This section offers a narrative summary of the patient’s current health status, including their support system and recent engagement levels. Use this section to understand the 'story' behind the data.
Current Medications (& Allergies): This section lists all active prescriptions, dosages, and frequencies to ensure medication reconciliation is accurate. It also prominently displays critical allergy alerts to maintain patient safety during care planning.
Clinical Data (with Trends): This section displays recent vitals, lab results, and related trending statuses that show whether a patient's health is improving or declining. These trend lines help you quickly identify rising risks that require immediate intervention.
Plan or Next Steps: This section outlines the specific clinical actions and outreach strategies deemed important to move the patient toward their health goals.
Refreshing the Smart Summary
A patient's TC Compass 'Smart Summary' will auto-generate the first time any user accesses TC Compass from that patient's chart. After the first generation, users will have the ability to re-generate the summary up to once per day. Users can do so by clicking the 'refresh' icon in the 'Smart Summary' screen.
Each time the summary is re-generated, the date, time, and user will be displayed at the top of the modal.
