Similar to user notifications, ThoroughCare now has the ability to send patients notifications! This can be helpful if the patient takes an abnormally high or low reading with their RPM supplied device, or if a patient's assessment answers puts them in a "High Risk" category.

Navigate to the Patient Page:

Begin by navigating to the patient's view page. Search for the patient by first name, last name, or EHR ID.

Once the search results load, select the patient's name, EHR ID, or "View" button underneath the "Actions" column.

Choosing Notifications a Patient Can Receive:

Once on the patient view page notice the new "Notifications" button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Click here to open the patient's "Notification Settings".

A "Notification Settings" pop-up will appear. Read through the notification options the patient has. The normal notification options are:

  • High-Severity Patient Assessment Score

  • When you have an upcoming appointment

  • Remote Reading is Outside of Recommended Range

  • Patient Reading Overdue Reminder

  • Patient Reading Due Reminder

Note: Some of these options may not apply to all patients. For example if a patient participates in CCM, but not in RPM, the last three notification options may not apply.

Click a check box next to the notifications the user would like to enable for the patient.

Note: Patients can only receive SMS Text notifications if they provided a mobile phone and the "Allow SMS" option is checked in their "Update Patient" information page.

Once the notification settings are chosen, click the "Save" button to complete the changes.

Viewing Patient Alerts Received:

On the patient view page, click the "Alerts" tab to navigate to the patient alerts.

Under the "Alerts" tab, notice the alerts table displayed. If the patient has not received any alerts this table will be empty. In the alerts table users will see columns displaying "Priority", "Title", "Date" and a "View" button.

Filtering Patient Alerts:

If needed a user can sort through alerts by choosing a date range. Click the empty box under "Date Range" to select dates from which to pull alerts from.

If a user wishes to see a breakdown of the notification click the "View" button.
